The Government of France has been very involved since 2006, in the creation and the leadership of the International Taskforce on Sustainable Tourism Development. The ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing, the ministry in charge of Tourism and the ministry of Foreign Affairs are working together to develop sustainable tourism, in France but also in the world, as a mean for development and international cooperation.Key contact person: Gérard Ruiz |

The Ministry of Tourism and the Costa Rica Tourism Board are the organizations in charge of the planning, promotion, training and marketing of Costa Rica as a sustainable destination. They have created the World´s First Sustainability Certification with economical, social, cultural and environmental sustainability as the baseline of all their development plans. The Ministry of Tourism has also provided technical cooperation in sustainability issues to the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Central America Tourism Secretariat, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina among others. |

The KNPS is established under the Ministry of Environment. It consists of a headquarters, 26 park offices, a National Park Research Institute, a Species Restoration Center, a Education Center and Aviation team. It provides wide variety of program including ecotourism to the visitors based on customer surveys. It has developed 70 new programs in 2008 and 61 in 2009 to help visitors learn the value and beauty of nature, culture and environment. Various efforts are being made to enhance expertise and quality of programs by introducing a program certification system and plans for introducing National Environmental Commentator Certification are considered. With the drastic increase in tours using the internet, the KNPS provides a variety of information on nearby accommodations, transport and restaurants in connection with major domestic portal sites. It has also maximized promotional activities on ecotourism by establishing an MOU with 62 related institutions in 2009. |

Grupo GEA is a NGO with 19 years of experience in sustainable development projects. It is organized around 4 technical divisions: a) tourism, b) enterprises, c) urban development and, d) education and community participation. It works under strong coordination with public sector and private enterprises associations. Grupo GEA has contracts to execute 4 tourism projects with a total budget of US$ 3,5 millions. Two of them have started in February 2011. CER is operated under the “enterprises” division after a bidding process by the Ministry of Environment and SECO cooperation in 2007. The World Tourism & Travel Council is the forum for business leaders in the Travel and Tourism Industry. With Chiefs executives of some one hundred of the world’s leading Travel & Tourism companies as its members, WTTC has a unique mandate and overview on all matters related to travel and tourism. WTTC works to raise awareness of Travel and Tourism as one of the world’s largest industries, employing approximately 235 million people and generating 9.3 per cent of the world GDP. |
| Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa (FTTSA) |
Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa (FTTSA) is a non-profit organization founded by the World Conservation Union (IUCN?South Africa country office) that promotes responsible tourism through awareness raising, advocacy, capacity building, community development initiatives and the facilitation of the world’s first tourism “Fair Trade” certification scheme. Since October 2003, FTTSA certification awards a special label to tourism establishments that invest in people and the environment and are impacting positively on staff, communities, and local economies. More recently, FTTSA has piloted the Fair Trade certification of package holidays to South Africa in an effort to determine whether an international Fairtrade label might one day be feasible for tourism. FTTSA is also the Secretariat of the Sustainable Tourism Network Southern Africa (STNSA), an informal group of public and private intermediary organizations; during 2007?2010 STNSA focused on sustainability standards and developing regional consensus on the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria and the accreditation of tourism certification programmes by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). |

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its mandate is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition, and work towards improving living conditions in the world's poorest countries by drawing on its combined global resources and expertise. In recent years, UNIDO has assumed an enhanced role in the global development agenda by focusing its activities on poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. Our services are based on two core functions: as a global forum, we generate and disseminate industry-related knowledge; as a technical cooperation agency, we provide technical support and implement projects. Employment, competitive economy and environment have a close interrelation with the Tourism Industry, and are the focus of a range of UNIDO activities. |

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. It serves as a global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how. Its Members include 161 countries and territories as well as over 400 Affiliate Members from the public and private sectors. UNWTO’s mission is to promote and develop tourism as a significant means of fostering international peace and understanding, economic development and international trade. UNWTO is committed to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, geared toward reducing poverty and fostering sustainable development. |

The Tourism Department is the government authority responsible for tourism in Morocco. Its mission is to develop and implement policies on tourism. To this end, it is in charge of developing, implementing and evaluating the strategy of tourism development. It has launched a new development strategy "Vision 2020" for the next decade. This new vision aims to consolidate, accelerate the growth momentum created by Vision 2010 and challenge the department: building new competitive tourism destinations in a regional approach aiming for a broader distribution of wealth generated by tourism activities and establishing a real sustainable development strategy.
