InTour 2012 Conference: The Influence of Tourism on Global Activity: Central or Peripheral?

The principal aim of this conference is to offer a forum for knowledge exchange and debate on the role of tourism in global society, attempting to evaluate its centrality as an agent of social change.

INTOUR is one of the most widely respected institutes of its kind, bringing together academic practitioners and researchers with international expertise in leisure, tourism and sustainable development. In the government's previous assessment of higher education research (Research Assessment Exercise 2001) the tourism group received the highest rating awarded in the UK and in the most recent assessment of research (Research Assessment Exercise 2008) the University was deemed to have 'World Leading' research activity in the field of tourism.
